Roy Hodgson set to only make one change

England manager Roy Hodgson has stated that he will only make one change to his side for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

The Three Lions beat Moldova 5-0 on Friday night, and now take on the eastern Europeans at Wembley in their second fixture.

John Terry has been ruled out due to injury, and Hodgson has confessed that the Chelsea man’s replacement will be the only alteration from Friday’s team.

“I thought the team was excellent against Moldova, both offensively and defensively. I don’t see any reason for making any changes in the team other than the one which has been forced upon us,” the coach told reporters, published by Sky Sports.

“We will be playing the same players and John Terry’s position will be taken by Phil Jagielka or Gary Cahill.

“Both Cahill and Jagielka are good players. Whichever player I chose I’ll be happy the team is well covered and that John’s absence will be well covered.

“I trust them both, both are good enough. It’s up to me now to choose which one I think is the better player for this match.

“I’ve done that but I don’t want to announce anything until I’ve spoken to the players. I’m looking forward to the match and hopefully we can keep our good start going,” he concluded.
