Irons warned off Allardyce
Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams says that any interest from West Ham United in current Ewood Park manager Sam Allardyce would be most unwelcome.
The Hammers are rumoured to have a four-man shortlist for their vacant managerial post, with Portsmouth's Avram Grant the odds-on favourite to take charge at Upton Park.
However, amid talk of Allardyce also being on the shortlist, Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "There's been no approach and we wouldn't welcome any approach."
Meanwhile, Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has also played down talk of him being a candidate for the Irons job.
Ahead of his side's Championship play-off final with Cardiff City, Holloway said:"It's an honour to be linked with something like that, but it's not genuine is it?
"If it was genuine then my chairman would be talking to me about it. I think a lot of journalists are quite lazy – they look at things and think 'oh, we can throw that name in'.
"You read the stories, but these newspapers will be wrapping someone's chips tomorrow. Never believe what you read in the papers. I don't."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
