In Focus: Crucial that Tottenham resist all temptations to cash-in on Kane

As reported by Spanish outlet Don Balon, Barcelona have received a recommendation that they should sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.

What’s the story?

Kane has been in lethal form at the start of this season, scoring 11 goals in nine matches for Mauricio Pochettino’s team. That kind of contribution is undoubtedly going to attract attention and it seems one of the world’s biggest clubs is now taking a good look at him.

Don Balon report that Barcelona have earmarked the striker as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez next summer, having received a recommendation from Chelsea attacker Pedro.

The outlet reckons that Barcelona see Suarez’s stock as waning due to his age and that Kane could be the perfect striker to step into his boots.

Talisman

This is unlikely to be the last report linking Kane with a move away to some giant clubs given his performances for Tottenham Hotspur since bursting onto the Spurs first-team scene in the 2013/14 season.

Since then he’s scored a magical 110 goals for the club and shows no sign of slowing down. As noted, he is on fire this season and could well have his best campaign so far by the end of May.

A talisman for club and country, it’s crucial that Spurs resist all attempts to sign him in the coming years if they’re to achieve their silverware ambitions and challenge for the English Premier League title on regular basis.
