Five EURO 2016 stars that are sure to have wowed Man United so far
With Jose Mourinho now installed as Manchester United manager, his eyes are no doubt looking firmly to France, and the array of European talent on show at the quadrennial event.
A number of Manchester United targets are part of the action, and whilst a number of players have been hugely inconsistent in the opening few games of the tournament; there are also a few that have excelled in their opening roles.
The impact that their performances will have on their future remains to be seen, but there are certainly a few players whose showings will certainly do them no harm if they are seeking a move to the red side of Manchester.
Here are FIVE EURO 2016 stars that are sure to have wowed Man Utd so far…
Dimitri Payet
Easily the standout player so far in the competition.
A hugely impressive opening day performance for France culminated in a last minute winning goal, much to the adulation of the French people. This was a feat that he repeated once more in game two, scoring the second goal in a French 2-0 victory over Albania.
Not only have Payet’s goals been impressive, but his overall play has been faultless; with much of the French attack coming through him.
His performances will no doubt attract some of Europe’s elite, as he cements his name as one of the top European talents.
One thing is for sure; if Manchester United were interested in him before the competition, they will do everything in their power to snap him up at the conclusion of the event.
N’Golo Kante
Whilst Dimitri Payet is getting all the plaudits in the media for his outstanding performances in the attacking third, somebody that has received markedly less praise is Leicester’s N’Golo Kante.
His performances in midfield have been exquisite; acting as a holding midfielder, covering the rampaging forward runs made by his team-mates whilst sweeping up any loose ball that comes near him.
He has been showing everything that Manchester United lacked last season; grit, passion and determination.
The Red Devils will definitely be after the French talisman after his exploits so far.
Breel Embolo
This swiss striker has been a target of Man United for a number of weeks and is on show for his native Switzerland this summer.
The opening two games for the nation have been a bit of a mixed bag for the country, but Embolo has done himself no harm with his performances.
Whilst he is yet to score for his country, his overall play has garnered praise from Man United fans; many of whom are getting a first look at the man their team are willing to pay nearly £30m for.
If he can develop his excellent attacking play into goals; his great performances so far will attract even more attention.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Whilst the Ibrahimovic to Manchester United transfer looks all but wrapped up; his performances so far in the competition have shown the United bosses exactly what they will be getting with the Swedish international.
Like Embolo, he is yet to score in the competition; but Mourinho will be well aware of his scoring record. Instead, what he has shown so far are some of his lesser known qualities.
A quality he’s shown in droves is his passion; he is dedicated to his team and will do anything to support his team-mates, a talent that is often lost in his representation in the media.
Goals will certainly come for the Swede, but United will be delighted that he is showing off a number of other qualities that he has in his repertoire.

Gareth Bale
The star of Group B so far.
Everybody knows how good Gareth Bale is; but he has shown his quality in abundance in the opening two games.
Acting as his team’s talisman, he has scored two excellent goals in the opening two games and driven his nation to euphoria with his performances.
A last gasp goal for England against the Welsh side didn’t seem to alter their spirits; with the team knowing that with Bale on their side their potential this summer is endless.
Manchester United have been interested in the Welshman for some time, with murmurings that Real Madrid were willing to sell.
A world record fee will certainly be required to bring the winger back to England, and whilst United may have been doubtful that he is of the quality to demand £100m, they certainly wont be thinking that now.
