Arsenal in discussions with Julian Draxler over January loan move
According to the The Sun, Arsenal have opened talks with Paris Saint Germain over a loan-move for Julian Draxler.
What’s the Story?
Arsenal may have found a replacement for Alexis Sanchez according to reports. The man that Arsene Wenger is targeting is believed to be Paris Saint Germain star Julian Draxler.
With Arsenal possibly looking to cash in on Sanchez in January, a loan move for the German international could be a perfect remedy for losing such a calibre of player.
Draxler has found life difficult in the French capital since the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe respectively.
The 24-year-old German has been played out of position in a number of games and has looked ineffective for the majority of the season.
How good has Draxler been this season?
With the aforementioned arrivals at PSG moving Draxler to the back of the queue in his favoured attacking positions, the German international has been forced to play in central midfield for the majority of the season.
Still, the former Schalke man has scored six goals and provided three assist in 21 games during the campaign so far. Whilst his stats certainly look impressive, the young star may be becoming frustrated at being shifted from his position and may see a move to Arsenal as a way of ensuring his place in the German national team for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Would Draxler be a good signing for Arsenal?
There is perhaps no better available replacement for Alexis Sanchez than Julian Draxler. With incredible passing abillities, impressive pace and surprising strength, the World Cup winner should be seriously considered if Arsenal’s Chilean magician departs.
